Hospitality Compassion Service Creed As our Christian Life increases in knowledge and understanding, it should also increase in commitment. St. Martin de Porres was a 16th century saint who overcame both poverty and discrimination while holding true to a vision of charity that all of us can admire. Because he combined activism and love, his diligence in making a difference, and his genuine care for the less fortunate - it seemed natural to look to him as a model for living a life of discipline combined with deep compassion. Our Order does not require you to believe a certain thing or to be a member of any particular church. It is all about making a difference. By ourselves, we can only do so much, but together we can plant deep roots to build a better way of serving. |
A way that combines honoring the dignity of the poor and oppressed, of giving respect to the sick and the dying, and of giving friendship and caring to all people.. |
